From Teacher to Advocate

For more than a decade, I worked as a teacher in public schools, where I had the privilege — and the heartbreak — of watching families struggle to get their children the support they needed.

I sat in IEP meetings and 504 conferences and watched parents come in lost, intimidated, and exhausted. I watched schools — not out of malice, but out of overwhelm — fail to properly communicate what students were entitled to.

I knew then that I wanted to use my knowledge of the system to help from the outside. Gravitas Advocacy was born from that conviction.
